In September 2004, David Olan and his wife Sharon attended a fundraising event for Friends of Washington Prep Foundation. The event was held in Bel Air, California at the home of attorney Bruce Broillet and his wife Nora. Legendary songwriter and performer Jackson Browne was the special guest of the evening and he performed many of his hit songs.
Friends of Washington Prep Foundation is dedicated to using the arts as a catalyst to the education of students who have been traditionally underserved by the public schools, underrepresented in higher education, and deprived of opportunities that could enable them to realize rich and productive lives.
Friends of Washington Prep Foundation is committed to the belief that the arts can dramatically change lives. Its mission is to support and further develop arts programming at Washington Prep High School, and make the arts available to as many students as possible in the greater community who could benefit from it as a means of enhancing self-esteem, self-discipline and social adjustment.
Jackson Browne is on the Board of Friends of Washington Prep Foundation. Over the course of three decades, Jackson Browne has written and performed some of the most literate and moving songs in popular music. With classic albums like Late For The Sky, The Pretender, and Running on Empty, he has defined a genre of songwriting that is charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. Along the way, he has touched the hearts and minds of countless fans worldwide.
