David Olan Appears on Television News Show "Celebrity Justice" in Case Against Motley Crue Singer Vince Neil

On April 19, 2004, attorney David Olan appeared on the television news show Celebrity Justice representing his client Michael Schuman in a case again Motley Crue singer, Vince Neil.
Vince Neil is being sued for $1 million in civil court after allegedly attacking record producer Michael Schuman outside the Rainbow Room nightclub in West Hollywood, on April 28, 2002.
A charge of misdemeanor battery against Vince Neil was dismissed in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 because he completed more than 100 hours of community service. "But he is not off the hook," says David Olan, Schuman's attorney. "We will seek justice through the civil justice system since our criminal courts are too backlogged to seek plight of those injured by rock stars who think they are above the law."
The lawsuit states that Schuman was exiting his vehicle in front of the restaurant when he was violently and brutally attacked without provocation by Neil and fell, fracturing his elbow, injuring his knee and damaging his mouth and teeth. Schuman also alleges he was struck with a fist or an object, causing injury to his head. The two had never met.
"This was an act of extreme and outrageous conduct, not suitable for a civilized society and shocking to the conscience of the reasonable person," says Schuman. "Vince Neil willfully and maliciously attacked me with conscious disregard to my rights under the law - I will fight and recover punitive damages."
The lawsuit also holds the Rainbow responsible, claiming the establishment failed to exercise proper security and was aware of Neil's propensity for violence.
